Twice stabbed lady beetle - Axion plagiatum

Twice stabbed lady beetle - Axion plagiatum
Fullerton, Orange County, California, USA
May 20, 2007
Size: approx. 1/4 "
Sorry I procrastinated adding these photos of the adult lady beetles. Aside from the 2 red spots, they are completely black as far as I could tell, even around the head and eyes. In comparing these beetles including the larvae, to the ones on this page, I believe they are Chilocorus orbus.

A good way to handle them.
I have a hunch we'll see more.

Chilocorus orbus certainly looks right
particularly because you've matched both adult and juveniles per the UC reference. This represents a new species for Bug Guide. Hope one of the experts weighs in on this.
