Is this an assassin bug nymph? - Zelus renardii
Garland, Dallas County, Texas, USA
July 23, 2015
Found it on my milkweed, eating what looks like an ant. Mid morning, mid July this year. Will add one additional view. Marking as immature for now, please correct if it is an adult.

Zelus renardii nymph...
See reference here.

Thanks
That is what I thought since earlier I had an adult of the species identified on the same plants. Thank you for the confirmation.

Prey...
I suspect the prey may be a eucharitid, which is a chalcid wasp that is parasitic on ants.

See reference here.

Very cool
I would not have thought of that so thank you. I see that is your area of expertise/interest so thank you for sharing that additional info. When I load these photos to my gallery, I like to be as accurate as possible and share info with my viewers/audience. I aim to share my love of nature and with bugs, counteract that instinct to go ewww/squish. :)
