Milkweed buglets - Oncopeltus fasciatus

Milkweed buglets - Oncopeltus fasciatus
Great Meadows NWR, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 11, 2015
On a milkweed seed pod. Is there more than one red bug associated with milkweed?

Moved
Moved from nymphs.

turcicus would be on Composites rather than Milkweed
and we haven't seen colonies of kalmii nymphs together. So we would suggest Oncopeltus fasciatus - Large Milkweed Bug for this one.

Moved
Moved from True Bugs.

Moved

Yes, a few
These are nymphs of Lygaeus sp (kalmii or turcicus) or Oncopeltus fasciatus.
