predatory stink bug? - Ramosiana insignis

predatory stink bug? - Ramosiana insignis
10-15 miles southeast of Sarita, Kenedy County, Texas, USA
October 8, 2015

Don Thomas says, "Wow! This is Ramosiana insignis.
"The furthest north that I have seen these collected is in the Jalpan area of Queretaro in central Mexico."

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks!
Any way to find other records of this species, or if this would represent a first US record? I found an article on their life history, and it doesn't look like their host plant is native to Texas...

might well be an accidental introduction
Don lives in so. Texas and knows the local fauna inside out
if you see more, please collect specimens to deposit in an institutional collection to document the bug's presence in this country

thanks for adding data
i edited the form for consistency and cropped the pic for expert attention; sending to Dr Thomas

look like an exotic bug to me, not a part of our fauna; not a predator, btw

cool bug... please specify location

Amazing colors
What a beautiful bug!

It seems so distinctive, but I am not finding a match.
I wonder if it is a stray from South of the border, or a northward range expansion.

I'll keep looking, but someone should be able to ID to species level.

Thank you for sharing.
