eggs & fly - Trissolcus - female

eggs & fly - Trissolcus - Female
Chanhassen, Carver County, Minnesota, USA
June 4, 2007
Size: 1.8mm fly, 1.1mm eggs
I've been watching these eggs on the back of an Elm tree (Ulmus americana)leaf for a couple of weeks. This fly has been a constant companion of the eggs. Any ID of either the fly or the eggs? Why is the fly there?

Not sure,

Fascinating. It certainly looks similar. Do you suppose the eggs will hatch?

Yes,
I think so. That would make for some great shots.
