most likely
Nematocampa resistaria
which is common and widespread.
There's another species (
baggettaria
) in Florida and Louisiana whose adults are described in
this PDF doc
but the larvae are unknown. The third North American species (
brehmeata
) is found only in California, and its larvae are unknown.
