Longhorned Fairy Moth - Adela caeruleella - female

Longhorned Fairy Moth - Adela caeruleella - Female
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
May 10, 2004
Size: circa 5 mm
Found along a woodland trail during the day, it had been with a male, presumably of the same species, on a blackberry (Rubus) flower--see linked image below. The female flew up and landed on some poison ivy, where I was able to approach somewhat closer. This is a Longhorned Fairy Moth, Adela species, likely Adela caeruleella. See other image for references.

Georgia leps, on this page shows an Adela species. The male has the long antennae, the female has the shorter antennae with the dark, thick bases.
