Thelia bimaculata - female

Thelia bimaculata - Female
Cornell Campus, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, USA
October 14, 2015
Found one on sidewalk below a black locust tree. Then looked up and saw another on the locust branch.

thanks!
I know exactly what you mean about the insect diversity on campus. It is the same story with me, except I'm mostly hunting after Orthops!

Moved from Treehoppers.

Thelia bimaculata, female
A few years ago a spent a week playing with treehoppers in the insect collection at Cornell and was absolutely overwhelmed by the membracid diversity on campus. It was all I could do not to turn the 20 min walk to work every morning into an hours long collecting event!!
