Northern Pearly Eye - Lethe anthedon

Northern Pearly Eye - Lethe anthedon
Searsmont, Waldo County, Maine, USA
July 21, 2015

Eyed Brown (Lethe eurydice)
Probable Eyed Brown v. Appalachian Brown, based on Maine location, and on subtle characteristics of the forewing shading pattern.
The shape of the wings separates it from the Pearly-Eyes.
However, if observed deep within a forested area, it could be an Appalachian Brown based solely on habitat.
