Diadasia - male

Diadasia - Male
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 4, 2007
Looks like a Diadasia to me (here in Opuntia chlorotica flower), though differently colored vestiture than more common brownish one, also bigger (~14mm vs. ~11mm). Repeatedly tried to knock the smaller, brownish ones out of the flowers.
