Size: 1 3/4" or 4.5 cm
Odonata Central #437957 has been CONFIRMED!
Here are the decision notes:
New State Record. Photos were reviewed by Dennis Paulson, John Abbott, and Steve Hummel who all agreed with ID of A. barretti.

My notes submitted with the sighting: Female Comanche Dancer was the closest match I found in my field guide (Dennis Paulson's) but their normal range is WAY south of here. I ask for other input on the Western Odonata facebook group and several concurred, including Dennis Paulson who said the following: Deb, I would submit that to Odonata Central as Comanche Dancer, so more people could look at it if necessary, as many odonate experts aren't on Facebook. After looking at just a few more photos (as you say, extremely few female photos seem to be available), I don't see anything else it could be, and putting it on the record like that would be a good idea. Comanche is a fairly large species, a bit larger than Springwater, for example. I measured the wire she was perched on with photo in hand for reference and the overall length was almost 1 3/4". Should this be accepted as Argia barretti (Comanche Dancer) it would be quite a range extension.
