Checkered Beetle? - Priocera castanea

Size: 8-10 mm in length
Although I could not find a match, I am wondering if this is a type of checkered beetle?

No I am not, and I have looked. I base the ID on a pic from the Checkered Beetles of Ohio. Though I did find info on the net that listed Alabama as a state it's found in.
