Bill- thanks you for your genus ID Eupeodes female and suggested (Sub-genus-Metasyrphus).

I thought it of the genus Eupeodes and a female, have it on my pad, awaiting a contributing Editor.

In North America all Eupeodes

In North America all Eupeodes belong to the sub-genus Metasyrphus other than Eupeodes volucris and this definitely is not E.volucris. Metasyrphus is more than a suggestion in this case.
