Melanoplus
Cornell Campus, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, USA
October 22, 2015
Swept from tall grass. I believe this to be an M. femurrubrum nymph, as that species was abundant as adults in the area. The only other melanoplines I have collected before in this area are M. bivittatus and M. punctulatus, and it doesn't look like the nymphs of those.

I suspect this little nymph hatched out at the wrong time of year. I'm going to try and raise it.

Edit, 30 Nov. Unfortunately this nymph's third molt went wrong and it died :(
