I believe that the irregular patches of frass indicate parasitized larvae (and late "stragglers" like this larva also often turn out to be parasitized).

At least there is a relativel
At least there is a relatively healthy looking cocoon now - We shall see whether a wasp or a moth emerges! (presuming SOMETHING does)
