It looks like Sericomyia chal
It looks like Sericomyia chalcopyga but is it found in Colorado?
I`ve sent it to Martin to look at.

Neah Bay and Clallam County are both in Washington State... maybe the poster got the location wrong?

(it's definitely chalcopyga, though, I agree)
