Scolopendromorpha sp - Hemiscolopendra marginata
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
May 15, 2004
Found in the neighbor's tub...they tried but couldn't squish it, and called me...I convinced them to hand it over and got these shots...I released it outside, but don't know if it survived the squishing attempt.

Hemiscolopendra marginata (Say, 1821), a common centipede from the James River, Virginia, to southern peninsular Florida, ranging westward to Oklahoma and Presidio Co., TX, west of Big Bend Nat. Pk. It frequently enters houses & buildings.

Moved from Tropical Centipedes.

Thank you, Ed.

Hemiscolopendra marginata
Definitely this species. Note the full bluish dorsum, and blue "tick" marks on the legs.
