Moth cocoon?

Moth cocoon?
Baars-Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary, University of West Florida, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, USA
October 18, 2015
Size: 12 mm for the white part
Found on Smilax pumila (Sarsaparilla Vine) during the fall BioBlitz the University of West Florida Baars-Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary. Might it be the cocoon of a moth? It doesn't seem very distinctive, but I haven't found many photos that look like it.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!
