male Rheumatobates?
check out pages 5.4 and 5.19 in the Epler book (1)

Epler book seems to shows onl
Epler book seems to shows only the Florida species. In Quebec, R. rileyi seems the only species from this genus to have been observed. Light-colored patterns on the back of my guy are a little different, but they are known to vary widely. The pale spot on the pronotum may be a small square or broadband. On the mesonotum the wingless scald can be diamond-shaped or completely absent.

Thanks for your help.

R. rileyi

more info
After all that, this reference (1) says that Rheumatobates rileyi is the only species of this genus in Ontario so maybe that really is true for Quebec too.

You're welcome
The Epler reference is only for Florida but it's the only one I knew of with photos of the relevant features. The furtherest north coverage of any gerrid reference I've seen is Illinois so I can't comment on what species might show up in Quebec. I wouldn't draw any conclusions from the BugGuide data on species distribution because the guide has very little on this genus.
It might be useful if you could upload some more severely cropped images showing just the hind legs and just the antennae. They will probably be necessary for a species ID and they'd also be a very useful addition to the guide.
This paper might also be useful for an ID but it doesn’t any range information. I’ll add the paper to BugGuide’s “books”
