Lacewing Larva - Leucochrysa pavida

Lacewing Larva - Leucochrysa pavida
Bowie, Prince George's County, Maryland, USA
January 24, 2003
I thought I might score a first with this one, but I see that there are several other photos of these "trashbugs" in the Guide. This might be the first to show lichen camouflage. I have additional photos on this Insect Stories page.

Saw one with lichen too!
I'm so glad you posted this here. I saw 3-4 recently for the first time. An assassin bug had caught my eye, and then I noticed several of these green lacewing larva toting lichen around. I was so puzzled and excited about what they might have been :).
