Linear mines on bunchberry - Phytomyza agromyzina

Linear mines on bunchberry - Phytomyza agromyzina
New River Beach Prov. Park-Haggertys Cove, Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada
August 16, 2014
This is probably Phytomyza agromyzina, but I am aware of your note that this species has not been raised from Bunchberry, Cornus canadensis. In moss-covered coniferous woods behind a campsite. I saw several mined plants in the area.

Actually, P. agromyzina has been reared from bunchberry. I feel like I have seen two distinct types of linear agromyzid mines on this host, but as far as we know they are all P. agromyzina--I've tried repeatedly to rear them but without success.
