moth - Operophtera bruceata - male

moth - Operophtera bruceata - Male
DuPage County, Illinois, USA
November 20, 2015
I wasn't able to find this one in my moth book, although there are a lot of little brown moths that look alike. The straight on picture is a little sharper but the slightly angled one makes it easier to see the pattern of the color banding. Found this outside by the back door a couple of days ago right before we got our first big snow and cold snap.

Thanks
Operophtera bruceata is in my book. It looks a lot more gray than brown to me, which is probably why I flipped right past it. So it looks like it is probably Operophtera bruceata or possibly the invasive Operophtera brumata? I can't find the differences between them other than location.
