Teneral Dragonhunter - Hagenius brevistylus - male

Teneral Dragonhunter - Hagenius brevistylus - Male
Patapsco River, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA
June 7, 2007
Size: ~ 80 mm
These images are of a very teneral male Dragonhunter (Hagenius Brevistylus). It probably crawled up on a rock to emerge. I was standing on a low sandy section of riverbank, and the dragonfly flew low over the water and landed under some low-growing plants practically at my feet!
