Size: < 1 mm
Exceedingly tiny: slightly less than 1 mm!! Found in a compost pile.

Moved very tentatively...
looks familiar but can't quite put my finger on it at the moment. Will revisit. A more straight-on dorsal would help.

This beetle was so tiny that at first glance I thought it was a thrips or collembola. It never stop running and it was constantly going in and out of focus. After taking many shots, the images I submitted to BG were the best I could come up with. If I find another one, I will have to "put it down" to take a straight down dorsal shot. Thank you for your kind help and expertise.
