Pterostichus acutipes? - Pterostichus acutipes - female

Pterostichus acutipes? - Pterostichus acutipes - Female
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
July 27, 2015
Size: 18mm
The ABL=18mm while the SBL=16mm (HL=3 PL=4 EL=9)
I believe this specimen to be Pterostichus acutipes.

Clues that lead me to this ID include the rounded rather than sub angular area under the small eyes. More importantly, the metatrochanters clearly "acuminate" to a rather sharp point at the apex.

The lack of setae on the hind trochanter, and the elongate, large head/mandibles indicate the Cylindrocharis subgenus.

This specimen was collected by NEON using a pitfall trap containing a 1:1 ratio of water and propylene glycol.
