Ajo, on the edge of the road in the desert besides a wooded arroyo, about 1 mile from the Country Club, Arizona, USA
November 30, 2015
Size: around 2 inches long
Unknown dragonfly perched on a creosote bush. The Country Club, to my knowledge, is the only source of water (one pond) in the area.

Sympetrum corruptum
The boot-shaped anal vein in the hindwing means this is a libellulid, while the coloration of the thorax and abdomen, and particularly the two-colored, white and orange-brown pterostigma (wing spot) suggest that this is a Sympetrum corruptum female.
