Three-lined Potato Beetle - Lema daturaphila

Three-lined Potato Beetle - Lema daturaphila
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
June 8, 2007
On Solanum dulcamara - the Woody Nightshade, also known as Bittersweet. Bitter-smelling indeed - it can be quite a tough weed to tackle. Sorry for the noisy photo. It was taken just prior to a heavy afternoon thunderstorm (sky was really dark), but the beetles were still actively flying about.
