Unknown Springtail - Calvatomina

Unknown Springtail - Calvatomina
Naples, Collier County, Florida, USA
March 4, 2015
Size: .9 mm BL
This springtail was isolated from litter collected in a sand live oak hammock and removed from the litter with a Berlese funnel. It is similar to another globular springtail that you (Frans) identified for me, but there are some differences. This one does not have the red color patch around the eye spots as did the other one.

Calvatomina sp.
IMHO, it is the same species. Possibly a juvenile specimen. The change in colour typically happens when specimens are kept in a preservation liquid.

Ok,
thanks very much for the identification.
