Unknown Oedipodinae? - Arphia conspersa - female

Unknown Oedipodinae? - Arphia conspersa - Female
Anoka County, Minnesota, USA
June 20, 2015
Size: 5cm wingspan

This one has been bothering me,
I do believe I goofed. The narrow dark wing band bothered me from the start, but I let the eastern Minnesota location cloud my judgement. A. conspersa is found as far east as Wisconsin, and when I look at the front of the fastigium (in front of the eyes), it looks a bit on the wide side for [i}A. sulphurea[/i]. I think this is actually A. conspersa.

The two are closely related. It wouldn't even surprize me if they hybridize or intergrade in that region.

Moved from Sulphur-winged Grasshopper.

Moved

looks like
Arphia sulphurea

Moved, do you have the date?
I suspect Arphia sp.

Moved from ID Request.
