Couldn't get this guy to open up for me. Any thoughts?

After catching another closed winged moth similar to this one in Feb 2016, I chilled it for awhile and it opened showing it to be Orthonama obstipata. They look very similar

They pretty much won't
It’s common for geometrids in the Ennominae and the Larentiinae subfamilies to fold their wings at rest. I've found once they have assumed that position, they keep it ... even if I force them to relocate.

Trusting my memory
Well, I am not sure whether I can, but the way I remember those geometrids with folded wings, they (most?) will open them eventually if they stay long enough at the same place. The temperature may play a role as well.
