In the
Handbook of the Bruchidae of the US & Canada
Kingsolver says of
Zabrotes subnitens
: "First antennal segment sometimes dark red beneath, metatibial spurs dark red. Vestiture white, uniformly distributed over body."
He goes on to say: "Antenna dimorphic, that of male reaching margin of pygidium, that of female reaching 1st abdominal segment."
