Found on Conium maculatum - Poisoned Hemlock.

It's a syrphid
Will look at it again later when I have more time. By the way, this background greatly improves your photos!

(Written later:) I think it's Copestylum, but am not good with ID of dead insects, depending probably too much on posture in the wild.

Background: White and neutral gray are probably best.
Jim McClarin uses white foamcore, I believe. You can get it at art supply stores and probably some hobby shops.

I shoot 99% in the wild, so am not the best source for this info.

I agree that this is a species of Copestylum. I also agree with the comment on the background (and lighting).
