Spilomelinae, once treated as a tribe of Pyraustinae, was recognized as a subfamily in Minet [1982], Solis and Maes (2002), and Regier et al. (2012) (1).
Numbers
244 species in 90 genera in our area (1), with at least two undescribed species.
