gall mites on Iva frutescens
This is a new species of Acalitus (Acari; Eriophyidae) that we are in the process of describing. It has been found in several areas along the gulf and Atlantic coast. Some web images have no location date or collector information. Anyone wanting to add their collection data to the description of this mite can contact Jim Amrine at jamrine@wvu.edu.
