Dolocucullia minor

Dolocucullia minor
Terlingua Ranch lodge, Brewster County, Texas, USA
October 13, 2015
Size: 19mm
Nearctia.com has 3 records from Brewster and 3 more from adjacent counties. The two other similar species at nearctia lack the well developed white AM line with dark margins. Also note the distinct dark scallops on the terminal wing margin. Many species of Cucullia also have very hairy legs as does the other species, D. dentilinea at nearctica. A thread count of 15 = 5mm gives me an estimated length of 19mm.
