Strange beetle - Macrohydnobius

Strange beetle - Macrohydnobius
Vancouver, Clark County, Washington, USA
November 6, 2015
Size: 4.5 mm
I found this strange small beetle near fresh cut Douglas fir tree. It was flying under poring rain and once I brought it in house (dry environment) the beetle died in next hour or so. So, I'm pretty confident this species is very dependable on wet environment. Under microscope I find out that my specimen has a mutation (see its left fore leg on very last picture).
The antennae structure and general shape make me feel this is a member of Cucujoidea superfamily, possibly Cryptophagidae, but I can't get any dipper with ID.
That would be awesome to get any other opinion or possibly even the species ID. Thanks for any help!

Moved tentatively...in this group (family at least)
Moved from ID Request.

Neat beetle
The antennae suggest Leiodidae, something like this . That's not meant to be an ID, even to genus. Wait for the experts.

Thank you!
Thank you! That is so nice to get it narrowed down to a genus level!
