Explanation of Names
It was originally found in Brazil on the
Novara Expedition.
Identification
Distinguished from other Atacta by abdomen with yellow to orange tip (gray to yellowish gray in other species) and fewer bristles.
Range
Southeast USA to Brazil and Peru
Remarks
Known to parasitize Noctuoidea and Sphingidae.
