Flat Grain Beetle, I think - Cryptolestes

Flat Grain Beetle, I think - Cryptolestes
Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama, USA
January 6, 2016
Size: About 2 mm with antennae
Perhaps a flat grain beetle (the main interest of this photograph)?

Not sure about the mite, I was surprised to find it attached. Is it parasitic, or a storage mite that was clinging to the beetle? I know very little about mites.

Found among infested corn meal with Mediterranean flour moths.

Acarologist
Dr. Dowling from the University of Arkansas says he thinks the mite might be Tyrophagus sp. He says it's a common mold mite, but the long setae are associated with several grain storage mites. That was just his guess.
