#0392 Tinea apicimaculella?
We've had a discussion on iNaturalist on how to separate these two very similar species. Apparently, three elements here point towards the Tinea:

-- presence of one or two bold dark dots in the median part of the FWs (one obscured by the dark streak)
-- a prominent dark streak running the length of the FW, and
-- a terminal line made up of a series of prominent dark dots.

These marks, and particularly the last one, are absent in all verified images of Homostinea that I can find.

Your thoughts?

That's what I thought
Chuck,
I originally had this moth placed as Tinea apicimaculella, and Steve Nanz moved to Homostinea curviliniella. This moth is clearly Tinea apicimaculella. Supposedly, Tinea apicimaculella identical to Homostinea curviliniella. “except for a row of black dots all along wing tip.” Thanks for input. I need to revisit my posts in both species.
Bob
