Blackish Silver Spotted Moth - Chrysodeixis includens

Blackish Silver Spotted Moth - Chrysodeixis includens
Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
December 6, 2015
Size: possibly 1-2inches
I found this black moth with silvery markings in the doorway of my basement. Not sure how it got there, but it may have been incubating in the plants we keep there during the winter, (aside from obviously flying around the house). When I got it into a cup to put it outside, it clamped up and had two 'horns' for camouflage, which I thought could be an identifying feature, aside from the silver spots.
Sorry in advance for the picture of it in a cup...
