Moved from Scrobipalpopsis petrella. Sorry for making an even bigger mess of the comments section of this image. There was already a page for this species under Ptycerata. I deleted the page made in 2017 for this set of images and kept the older page for this species, moving it to Scrobipalpopsis per the Pohl, et al. checklist.

I see the problem
Scrobipalpulopsis Povolný, 1987 was synonymized with Scrobipalpula Povolný, 1964, but Scrobipalpopsis Povolný, 1967 never was--it is listed as valid in Lee, Hodges & Brown (2009). You must have just misread the name (it is unfortunate that there are so many similar genus names).

Yes, that's exactly what I must have done
Man, those names are similar. You would think Povolný could have been more creative with names.

Scrobipalpopsis Povolný, 1987 is a synonym of Scrobipalpula Povolný, 1964 (Lee, Hodges, & Brown, 2009 (1)). Moved from Scrobipalpopsis.

That paper isn't the last word...
Scrobipalpopsis has been considered valid in subsequent publications, e.g. by Vazrick Nazari, who is the North American authority on Gnorimoschemini. Vazrick and Terry Harrison have both been referring to this moth as a Scrobipalpopsis, so that's what we should be calling it.

Remember that we're supposed to give a chance for comments before making taxonomic changes, and that getting John VanDyk to redirect pages is preferred to deleting them when possible. If we were accepting the synonymy, Scrobipalpopsis should be listed as a synonym on the Scrobipalpula guide page.

Jumped the gun on this one
Thanks for keeping me honest, Charley. I'm going to message Dr. Nazari and ask him about this group. It's a confusing one for me. I only deleted the Scrobipalpopsis page because it had no information on it whatsoever. Otherwise I would not have. I just recreated it now.
