(updated 2024) This information below applies to individuals with mostly white-colored wings. All of the mostly brown-grey winged individuals are (probably) = californica
The key in the new fascicle says: (1)
Forewing with a thin, oblique white mark at the base of large black subapical dash = rimosa
Forewing with a small white quadrate bar at the base of large black subapical dash = californica
