Thorn bugs - Cyarda

Thorn bugs - Cyarda
Tavares, Lake County, Florida, USA
June 1, 2007
Found on a dwarf Paw Paw plant. Looks like thorns

Moved
Moved from Cyarda melichari.

Cyarda melichari
These slender insects with their "tails" in the air are Flatid planthoppers.

"Looks like thorns"
They've got the profile and the color down, but really need to work on the spacing! Looks like they're standing guard here.

Don't think they are Thorn Bugs
If you look closely, you'll notice that the head of the closest bug is to the left, and that it is the bug's abdomen that is pointing into the air. So, no thoracic projections. I think that these are Planthoppers instead.
