Some kind of Longhorn Beetle? - Strophiona tigrina

Some kind of Longhorn Beetle? - Strophiona tigrina
Novato, Marin County, California, USA
June 2, 2007
Size: 2 cm
I found this beetle drowning in the pool, but it was fine after I got it out. I can't find a match for it on this site, but I think it is a member of the Longhorn Beetle family.

Moved
Moved from Typocerus.

Typocerus serraticornis
This is Typocerus serraticornis

That's definitely it, thanks!

A big ooops!
Sorry for any confusion caused by my flower longhorn post, referenced here by Philip Chaon and IDed as Typocerus serraticornis at the time of Philip's comment. Turns out, the insect depicted is actually Strophiona tigrina Casey. This beetle was very difficult to identify, but with the concurrence of Arthur V. Evans on the present ID, I feel it is correct.

Details are available on the first page of my original post. http://bugguide.net/node/view/60978

Strophiona tigrina
Most definitely that is it.

Really, it looks nothing like Typocerus serraticornis which, as far as I know, does not occur in California.

Thanks, Richard
That should remove all doubt.
