Spider (Unknown) catching Thin-legged wolf spider (Pardosa sp.) - Badumna longinqua

Spider (Unknown) catching Thin-legged wolf spider (Pardosa sp.) - Badumna longinqua
Sunnyvale Baylands, Santa Clara County, California, USA
January 16, 2016
Size: 14 mm
Came across this spider dragging away another spider it just subdued. Its prey is likely a Thin-legged wolf spider (Pardosa sp.) since they are so numerous in the area. Unfortunately this is the best shot I could get before it dragged its victim away. Have tried to identify its genus based on eye arrangement but from the picture is a unclear and have not been able to reconcile its largish size with its eye arrangement. Any help would be appreciated. Also can somebody educate me on the large red gland(?) just above the jaws. Venom gland, perhaps, but first time I have seen it in a spider?

Moved from Badumna.
(Sorry about the double move, accidentally moved to genus.) The red thing is a part of the spider's anatomy called a boss.
