Elaphropus xanthopus - Elaphropus

Elaphropus xanthopus - Elaphropus
Talladega National Forest, Bibb County, Alabama, USA
July 24, 2015
Size: 2.1mm
The following feature led me to Elaphropus xanthopus using (Hayward 1900)

1. Stria impunctate
2. Pronotum posterior transverse impression tripunctate.
3. Robust, paler at the apex of the elytra.
4. Pronotum wider than long and elytra wider than pronotum.

I am forgetting the details about the microsculpture of the frons that helps distinguish this as a species. As a whole it seems this group is in need of some revision for clarification perhaps. I will add a few more pictures with various lighting, input appreciated, thanks!

This specimen was collected by NEON using a pitfall trap containing a 1:1 ratio of water and propylene glycol.
