Dark Red Wings, White Spot - Empyreuma pugione

Dark Red Wings, White Spot - Empyreuma pugione
South Pasadena, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
January 5, 2016
Size: Approx. 1-inch
This pretty one sat and rested on my terrace floor for so long, I thought it might have been injured. But it eventually moved on. I recently moved to Florida, from New York, and had never seen an specimen that looked like this before.

Moved from ID Request.

Male - Spotted Oleander Caterpillar Moth
Metrioptera is correct and there is only one species available in the genus. This is a very distinctive type of Tiger Moth and it is only found in your area.
