L. biv-4
Your pictures continue to amaze me! January 30th-- that's a new record by two weeks! Is spring starting already? Were L. littoris out, too?

Any chance you could sneak a voucher specimen for the books? :-)

The bristles aren't really visible here (I think I can just make them out on the right-hand fly in the spread wing shot), but I'm pretty sure these must be biv-4 (hopefully I'll have the new name published this summer). The rich brown color, golden facial knob, and tomentum patterning is right.

Size
I always forget that not everyone can see the full size image. Here's original size: https://www.flickr.com/photos/44150996@N06/24693114686/sizes/o/.

The weather was pretty poor, these were literally the only flies I saw (I was really surprised to see any robbers out).

biv-4
Thanks, those have fabulous detail and show the bristles well; this definitely is biv-4.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

ID
Look similar to , but less bristly; I'm not sure if these are something different or are just more worn.
