Tan spider - Pisaurina mira Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA February 3, 2016 Size: About 1 inch
I am wondering if this is a brown recluse, even though they are not usually found in my area. This spider was on the door to my shed tonight, 7PM (after dark) on an unusually warm day (50's) in early February, after flooding rains and snowmelt. When I walked to my shed, the spider was sitting right on the edge of the door, about a foot off the ground, so it is possible it came from underneath the shed. With the amount of flooding we have going on today, it is possible that underneath the shed is very damp or even wet right now, but I don't know for sure. Also, it was standing with its 2 front legs on both sides very close together - so that at first glance it looked like it only had 6 legs. It moved slightly before I took the picture, so in the picture only its 2 front left legs are still together - but both sides were like that initially.
I just had this shed delivered 5 weeks ago - it was custom built by a local company, but I do not know where the materials used to build it came from.
This picture was taken with a flash. Unfortunately when I went back with a container to capture it, it had disappeared. Any help identifying this spider will be greatly appreciated - thank you!
