Cuckoo-leaf-cutter bee sp.? - Coelioxys menthae - female

Cuckoo-leaf-cutter bee sp.? - Coelioxys menthae - Female
Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, Pima County, Arizona, USA
November 1, 2015
I had a very tough time figuring out roughly what this was, so hopefully I have narrowed it down accurately. I believe it is in the genus Coelioxys based on the wing venation and highly pointed abdomen. I can't seem to find one that looks just like this from Arizona, so I am interested to see what this one is! ID help is greatly appreciated!

Coelioxys female
I suspect she is C. menthae but need to check my reference collection to confirm. Good find!

Awesome!
Thanks, John! I'm happy to see that it is something new for bugguide - I too am a birder, and to these eyes I could not find a match. I actually thought it looked most like species in the subgenus Neocoelioxys, but saw that all species on bugguide were from Texas or further east. I appreciate all your work on this site - much appreciated!
